Mirador da Perdiz, the winner of the “Embelecer Valga” contest
For years, the municipality of Valga has been organising a competition focused on the resources of its territory known as “Embelecer Valga“. This, as the name suggests, consists of beautifying a corner of the municipal district and then choosing the most beautiful of all.
This year, among the 19 proposals presented was that of the residents of O Vilar, who have restored the Mirador da Perdiz, a site that in the short time it has been renovated has already received a large number of visits.
Located in Cordeiro, the Mirador da Perdiz viewpoint is the result of the efforts and dedication of fourteen residents, who took advantage of the competition to implement an idea that they had already had in mind for a long time.
Stunning views over the Ulla
The main problem with this beautiful viewpoint of Valga was its neglected state, leaving its impressive views almost imperceptible. Due to the surrounding vegetation, it was impossible to observe its panoramic view over the Ulla, so this had to be removed to spruce it up and turn it into a viewpoint.
Now, with the installation of a hundred-meter wooden railing and a bench inside a huge iron heart engraved with “Quérote”, its panoramic view looks spectacular.
If you haven’t seen it yet, come to Mar de Santiago and get to know this viewpoint that is now being promoted to enjoy unique views. In addition, you can also take the opportunity to visit the nearest municipalities in our territory: Catoira, Pontecesures, and Vilanova de Arousa.
