Vilanova de Arousa is a coastal municipality located in the western part of the Salnés area, in northwest Spain, in the middle of the Rías Baixas region. This municipality in the province of Pontevedra is nationally and internationally renowned as one of Galicia’s main mussel-producing areas and the birthplace of Ramón María del Valle-Inclán, one of the most outstanding Spanish authors in the 20th century.
Airport
Vilanova is located halfway between Galicia’s two main airports. About 60 kilometres to the south is the airport of Vigo (Peinador), and 70 kilometres to the north is that of Santiago de Compostela (Rosalía de Castro – Lavacolla).

By car
The main approach roads to Vilanova de Arousa are the PO-548 national road, which links the municipalities of Catoira, Valga and Pontecesures; and the AP-9 motorway, which links A Coruña and Vigo, crossing Galicia from north to south. In this case, you have to take the exit in Caldas de Reis and from there continue along the national road.
